SLO Mini Camp - Korek Mountain
This event is usually a special one for our SLO team where students attend SLO training sessions, get social with other SABIS schools in our region, and have fun!!
DAY 1- Arrival to Korek
Students were warmly welcomed by the hosting school students in the morning, they attended the first session “ What it means to be a Prefect” and applied couple of Ice Breaker activities; getting to know each other. After lunch they had a training session which was “ Leadership” followed by a movie delivering a powerful message on how leaders around the world evolve and sharing successful stories in our schools was the main aim of this session.
After they had dinner, board games, challenging games and team building exercises were already set along with a “Bon Fire”, marshmallows, music and dancing! An evening to remember.
Day 2- At Korek Mountain
Students attended a very motivating presentation by Mr. Stephan, the Director of ISC Erbil where he explained the notion of goals and objectives followed by a brainstorming session for each school to set SMART goals for the rest of the year.
Another interesting session was done by Mr. Nabil Ismail about the importance of hiking and creating a club that gathers all SABIS students in Kurdistan to undergo hiking sessions in various beautiful mountains. Afterwards all students had to apply what they learned on a mini hiking trip adding more excitement and fun.
Later group photos were taken and students were both happy to attend such an amazing event, but sad to leave behind memories with new friends who accompanied them during the mini camp.
