Ski Trip to Lebanon Opens New Horizons
Students from ISC-Suleimaniah and ISC-Erbil recently traveled to Lebanon for four days of fun-filled skiing and exploration. The trip provided students with an opportunity to experience a new culture and develop new friendships.
Professional ski instructors were at hand to help those just learning to ski, while those with more experience swooshed down slopes with school staff members who made the trip as chaperones. “The whole environment was awesome!” commented one chaperone. “It was great to watch the students make new friends with their sister school students and I’m sure they will now stay in touch.”
In addition to enjoying the slopes of Faraya, students also spent time exploring shopping centers where they could find souvenirs for themselves and their families. “It was a pleasure watching them handle their allowances so maturely,” said Sandra Ghajar, ISC-Erbil Activities Coordinator. “I think our Math Department has done wonders,” she added laughing.
As members of the SABIS® School Network, both ISC-Suli and ISC-Erbil emphasize student academic growth, promote social growth, leadership development, and embrace opportunities to enhance students’ life skills.
